The rules for using RamaChess.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RamaChess (https://ramachess.com, the "Service", "we", "us", or "our"), you ("user", "you") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

RamaChess is a free chess platform that allows visitors to:

• Play chess against open-source engines such as Stockfish, in their browser
• Analyse chess games using engine evaluation
• Browse archived games between top chess engines, sourced from publicly available collections such as CCRL and TCEC
• Practise positions, study tactical themes, and replay grandmaster and engine games

The Service is provided free of charge and on an "as is" basis.

3. Eligibility

RamaChess is open to anyone with an Internet connection. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. User Conduct

While using the Service, you agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the Service, its servers, or networks
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service in a manner that places excessive load on our infrastructure
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or any computer systems connected to the Service
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service except where allowed by the GPLv3 license of the underlying chess engines
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm another person
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate any person or entity

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 RamaChess content

The design, layout, written content, page structure, illustrations, and original code of RamaChess are the property of RamaChess and its developer (Surajit). You may view and use this content for personal, non-commercial purposes. Reproducing or republishing the site's design or written content without permission is prohibited.

5.2 Chess engines

RamaChess uses third-party open-source chess engines including Stockfish (GPLv3), LCZero, and others. The source code of these engines remains the property of their respective authors and is licensed under the terms of their original licenses (typically GPLv3). RamaChess makes no claim of ownership over these engines.

5.3 Game archives

Engine vs engine game records (PGN files) on RamaChess are sourced from publicly available collections such as CCRL (Computer Chess Rating Lists) and TCEC (Top Chess Engine Championship). Game scores themselves are facts and are not subject to copyright. We thank these communities for making the data freely available.

5.4 Third-party trademarks

Names of chess engines, players, and tournaments referenced on RamaChess are the trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners. Use of these names is for descriptive and informational purposes only.

6. Disclaimers

6.1 No warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

6.2 Engine analysis

Engine evaluations and best-move suggestions provided by the Service are computed by chess engines and are intended for educational and recreational use. They are not guaranteed to be optimal, and should not be relied upon for competitive over-the-board play during tournament games (which would in any case violate FIDE rules on engine assistance).

6.3 External links

RamaChess contains links to external websites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of those external sites.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RamaChess and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to use the Service in the past 12 months — which, since the Service is free, is zero.

8. Advertising

RamaChess may display advertising in the future, including ads served by Google AdSense. We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads. Clicking on ads is at your own discretion and the advertiser's terms apply.

9. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

10. Modifications to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent change. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in West Bengal, India.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
